Prints

My artwork is influenced by Islamic arts repeating patterns and intricate designs. It is based on Australian native flora and fauna drawn from the areas where I have lived and been influenced.

My artwork is initially designed with coloured pencil drawings. I choose a basic shape (usually a square, rectangle or circle) and then build up the design inside this. This design is then traced and painted using gauche, then photographed and printed in high quality for your enjoyment. Each series I produce is based on the flora and fauna of the area in which I live and what inspires me. These are limited edition prints of 100.

Ceramics

The ceramics are bought from an Australian company. Designs are drawn using colour pencil and then painted with gauche. They are then printed on ceramic decal printers, cut out by hand and applied to the ceramic. The ceramics are then fired again to adhere the design on to it enabling them 100% dishwasher safe. As each decal is placed by hand, there are unique differences. Many of the designs are insects located in my current home of Northern NSW.

As part of EthicalArtwork and HayleyK’s dedication to sustainability and supporting the protection of the beautiful flora and fauna of Australia we are donating 10% of all profits to a worthwhile charity. The chosen charity will change every 12 - 18 months as there are so many valuable things we need to protect. Keep updated to know who we will be supporting in the future.

Our charities to receive our profits this year are The Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife and Good 360 Flood Appeal. We have chosen these worthwhile charities due to our devastating recent floods across NSW and Queensland which has affected not only us but also many of our friends, both human and animal. Amazing stories of survival and communities coming together to assist, save and support each other are still being heard on a daily basis. To see such devastation to our beautiful landscape it is obvious there is need for financial support for regrowth and revegetation projects. With more rain expected this season, this is an area that is going to need ongoing support for communities, flora and fauna.
